Meg Donnelly Makes Her Broadway Debut in Moulin Rouge! The Musical

Meg Donnelly, best known for her role in the Zombies franchise, is set to make her Broadway debut as Satine in Moulin Rouge! The Musical. Her performance will begin on November 11 and is scheduled to run through March 1, 2026, at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in New York City.

This marks a significant milestone for Donnelly, who has long dreamed of performing on Broadway. In a recent statement, she expressed her excitement about the opportunity. “I cannot believe I am saying the words, I am making my Broadway debut,” she said. “I have been dreaming of this moment since birth, and it is hard to fathom it is even real.”

Donnelly will take on the role of Satine, the glittering nightclub star and tragic heroine made famous by Nicole Kidman in Baz Luhrmann’s 2001 Oscar-winning film. The role was originally played on Broadway by Tony winner Karen Olivo, and has since been portrayed by stars such as Joanna "JoJo" Levesque, Solea Pfeiffer, and Courtney Reed.

A Dream Come True

For Donnelly, this casting is more than just a professional achievement—it's the realization of a lifelong dream. She described the experience as feeling like coming home. “Ah! I am so happy to be surrounded by theatre kids again. I am coming home!” she said. “This whole time, I keep picturing what little me would be thinking? I am doing this for her.”

She also highlighted the sense of community within the production. “You can tell it is truly family at Moulin Rouge! The Musical,” she added. “Everyone has been extremely welcoming & supportive.”

From Screen to Stage

Raised in New York, Donnelly has always had a passion for musical theater. She began her career on screen as cheerleader Addison Wells in Disney’s Zombies franchise. Later, she appeared in ABC’s American Housewife, The CW’s The Winchesters, and had a memorable run on High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.

In addition to her acting career, Donnelly is also a talented recording artist. Her latest EP, dying art, has received praise for its blend of catchy pop beats and honest, personal storytelling.

A Star-Studded Cast

Donnelly’s run in Moulin Rouge! The Musical will overlap with that of Bob the Drag Queen, the RuPaul’s Drag Race winner and breakout star of The Traitors. Bob will join the show as master of ceremonies Harold Zidler. His eight-week limited engagement begins on January 27, 2026, and continues through March 22, 2026.
