'Come From Away' at the Milwaukee Repertory Theater
The Milwaukee Repertory Theater is launching its first musical in the newly rebuilt and upgraded Checota Powerhouse Theater. This joyful musical tells the story of the unexpected closeness that developed when airline passengers stranded by the September 11 attacks found themselves in Newfoundland. The show runs from November 4 to December 14 at 108 E. Wells St.
'The Wizard of Oz' in concert by the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra
Experience the magic of "The Wizard of Oz" as the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra performs Herbert Stothart's iconic score while the classic 1939 film is screened. The concert will take place on November 7-8 at 7:30 p.m., and on November 9 at 2:30 p.m. at the Bradley Symphony Center, 212 W. Wisconsin Ave.
'The Rose of Treason' by First Stage Young Company
First Stage's group of advanced teen actors will perform Wisconsin writer James DeVita's play about Sophie Scholl and The White Rose, a real group of young Germans who nonviolently resisted the Nazi regime. The performance runs from November 7 to 16 at the Milwaukee Youth Arts Center, 325 W. Walnut St.
Joshua Redman at the Wilson Center for the Arts
Renowned American jazz saxophonist Joshua Redman brings his quartet to Brookfield for a concert on November 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Wilson Center, 3270 Mitchell Park Drive. Redman is known for his versatility, having performed with the Rolling Stones and even dueling with cellist Yo-Yo Ma on the animated PBS kids' show "Arthur."
Grieg's Piano Concerto by the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra
Under guest conductor Rune Bergmann, the MSO will perform Edvard Grieg's Piano Concerto with guest soloist Paul Lewis. The program also includes Carl Nielsen's Symphony No. 4 and Einojuhani Rautavaara’s "Cantus Arcticus." The concert takes place on November 14 at 11:15 a.m. and November 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the Bradley Symphony Center, 212 W. Wisconsin Ave.
'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat' by Skylight Music Theater
Skylight Music Theater presents a family-friendly production of the Webber-Rice musical about Joseph, the dream-interpreting biblical hero. The show runs from November 14 to December 28 at the Broadway Theatre Center, 158 N. Broadway.
'Murder Girl' by the Milwaukee Chamber Theatre
This whodunit set in a family-owned Northwoods supper club features Wisconsin jokes and references. It runs from November 14 to 30 at the Broadway Theatre Center, 158 N. Broadway.

Handel's 'Messiah' by the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and Chorus
Nicholas McGegan, one of the world's top conductors of Baroque music, teams with the MSO and Milwaukee Symphony Chorus for this holiday choral classic. The performance takes place on November 21-22 at 7:30 p.m. and November 23 at 2:30 p.m. at the Bradley Symphony Center, 212 W. Wisconsin Ave.
'Boswell' by Next Act Theatre
"Boswell" has its roots in legendary biographer James Boswell's journals. The play, reworked from an earlier version, runs from November 19 to December 14 at 255 S. Water St.
'The Pigeon Gets a Big Time Holiday Extravaganza!' by First Stage
This musical show for people 4 years and older was co-adapted by Mo Willems from his popular picture books. It runs from November 21 to December 28 at the Marcus Performing Arts Center's Todd Wehr Theater, 929 N. Water St.

'Echoes of Hope' by Danceworks Performance MKE
In connection with the Violins of Hope residency, Danceworks organizes this dance concert highlighting stories of courage and resistance. The performance takes place on November 22 at 4 and 7:30 p.m., and November 23 at 2:30 and 6 p.m. at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 935 W. Wisconsin Ave.
'The Last Laugh' by Theatre Gigante
Gigante screens F.W. Murnau's classic silent film from 1924, with Emil Jannings as a hotel doorman. Little Bang Theory will perform Frank Pahl's score on toy and children's instruments. The event takes place on November 23 at 3 p.m. at the Jan Serr Studio, 2155 N. Prospect Ave.
'Of Being Numerous' by Present Music
Present Music's annual Thanksgiving concert features a newly commissioned composition by Christopher Cerrone, based on George Oppen's long poem. The Philadelphia-based choir The Crossing will sing Cerrone's music. The concert takes place on November 23 at 5 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 812 N. Jackson St.

'Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical' by Marcus Performance Arts Center
The national tour of the Broadway musical adapted from Seuss' story arrives in Milwaukee for Thanksgiving week. Note: No performance on November 27, which is Thanksgiving, but there will be multiple matinee and weekend shows for children and other people with early bedtimes. The show runs from November 25 to 30 at the Marcus Performing Arts Center, 929 N. Water St.

'A Christmas Carol' by the Milwaukee Repertory Theater
This year's production features recent favorites Matt Daniels as Scrooge, Todd Denning as the Ghost of Christmas Present, Reese Madigan as Bob Cratchit, James Pickering as Mr. Fezziwig, and Mark Corkins as the Ghost of Jacob Marley. The show runs from November 25 to December 24 at the Pabst Theater, 144 E. Wells St.
