A Grand Return to Los Angeles
Seventeen made a stunning return to Los Angeles, performing two nights at BMO Stadium. The 13-member K-pop group, which includes S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The 8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino, is currently performing with nine members. Four of the group's members—Jeonghan, Wonwoo, Hoshi, and Woozi—are currently serving their mandatory military service in South Korea.
Fresh off their 10th anniversary and latest album Happy Burstday, Seventeen returned to the U.S. for the New_ Tour. Their stop in Los Angeles on October 16 and 17 was one of five stops in America. Before heading to the U.S., the group began their tour in Korea and then traveled to Hong Kong. They will continue their journey to Japan after wrapping up the U.S. leg.
An Energetic and Unforgettable Performance
The two-night event was an energetic and non-stop affair that delighted both longtime fans and newcomers. Known for their close relationship with their fans, Seventeen seemed equally excited to see the enthusiastic crowd. The performance kicked off with a runway-style introduction, as different members appeared in pairs to strut around the stage to the recent B-side "Bad Influence."
This opening was fitting for several reasons. Over the years, several members of Seventeen have ventured into the fashion world. For example, Mingyu is an ambassador for Dior and frequently appears in Calvin Klein campaigns. Additionally, "Bad Influence" itself originated on the runway. The song, produced by Pharrell Williams, debuted at the Louis Vuitton Men's Fall Winter 2025 runway show. Williams also serves as the men's creative director for the luxury fashion house.
Highlighting New Music and Individual Performances
The new tour allowed the group to showcase their recent single, "Thunder," which is a highlight of their latest album. Alongside this, they performed all of Burstday's B-sides in the form of solo stages. During an interview earlier this year with The Hollywood Reporter, the group discussed their decision to include more individual opportunities as they progress in their careers.
"We are standing at a new starting line, preparing for a new path ahead and ready to blaze a new trail," said S.Coups, the group's overall leader. Hoshi added, "We would like to show more of our individualities, each of the members' personalities and capabilities, so that when the time comes and we get back together again as a group, we'll be able to showcase ourselves as a better Seventeen."
A Mix of Old and New Hits
In addition to the solo songs, Seventeen included some of their popular singles from previous years, such as "Hot," "Rock With You," "Love, Money, Fame," "Dar+ling," and "F*ck My Life." They also surprised the audience with tracks like "A-Teen," "9Teen," and "20." However, no Seventeen show would be complete without their iconic track, "Very Nice."
The song, released in 2016 as part of the group's first full-length album, remains a staple for the group. Veteran Carats, the official name for the boy group's fans, know to expect multiple encores of the song, often at least a few times. The group also involves fans by going down to the barricade to let them sing a portion of the song. During the Friday night show, the group performed "Very Nice" several times, along with a repeat of the 2024 track, "Eyes on You."
A Special Night for Fans
Throughout the night, Seventeen expressed uncertainty about when they would reunite as a full group. Many members will join their already enlisted peers to complete their mandatory military service in the coming years. This sentiment made the night even more special for the fans in attendance, who seemed to cherish every moment with the group.
Despite the uncertainty, Seventeen has reassured fans that the group's future remains strong. "We understand that the fans are very sad that some of us are going to be away, but among ourselves, [we] don't consider this to be a really huge deal because we know that we are going to stay together," said Woozi in a previous interview with The Hollywood Reporter. "We should consider this as quite a long preparation phase for the next album that's going to be even better and greater."
Upcoming Tour Dates
Seventeen's New_ World Tour will continue its U.S. leg with dates in Sunrise, Florida, and Washington, D.C., next week. The group's performances continue to captivate audiences, proving their enduring popularity and dedication to their fans.
