On October 22, just after 2 p.m., a special response team executed these warrants at an apartment complex near the intersection of Forum Drive and Hearn Avenue, resulting in Blackman’s arrest.

In addition to Blackman, other individuals were charged as part of the ongoing investigation:

  • Malina Caldwell was charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, one count of indecent behavior with juveniles, and felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile.
  • Daiquan Blackman faced charges of two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile and two counts of indecent behavior with juveniles.

Ongoing Investigation and Future Charges

The investigation is still active, with law enforcement anticipating additional charges, including rape and human trafficking, in the coming days. The complexity of the case suggests that more information may come to light as the investigation progresses.

SPD is working closely with the Caddo Parish District Attorney’s Office and the New Jersey State Police to ensure that all aspects of the case are thoroughly examined. This collaboration underscores the seriousness of the matter and the commitment of local and state authorities to bring those responsible to justice.

Commitment to Justice and Safety

The Shreveport Police Department has emphasized its dedication to holding individuals accountable who exploit and harm children. The department stated that those found guilty of such crimes will face full legal consequences.

The juvenile involved in the case is now safe, and authorities are taking steps to ensure their well-being. This case serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance and cooperation between law enforcement agencies to protect vulnerable members of the community.

Community Response and Awareness

As the investigation continues, the community has shown concern over the circumstances surrounding the case. Local leaders and residents have called for increased awareness and support for youth protection initiatives.
