Prince William and Kate Middleton are beginning a new chapter in their lives, one that promises more space and privacy for their family. The Prince and Princess of Wales, both 43 years old, have reportedly moved into Forest Lodge in Windsor with their three children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. This move happened during the school half-term, and the family is reportedly settling in well.
Kensington Palace confirmed the news back in August, stating that “the Wales family will move house later this year.” Their relocation marks the end of their three-year stay at Adelaide Cottage, which they initially saw as a trial to determine if life in Windsor suited them. It clearly did, enough for the family to commit long-term. The new home keeps them close to Lambrook School, where the children attend, and to the parents of Kate Middleton, Carole and Michael Middleton, who live in nearby Bucklebury.
“We were in London but moved there for more green space,” Kate explained earlier this year at the Irish Guards’ St. Patrick’s Day BrowBrow. “It’s close enough to London, not too far away.”
The move comes after an emotionally challenging few years for the royal couple. In 2022, they experienced the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, and in 2024, both King Charles III and Kate Middleton faced cancer diagnoses. These events have undoubtedly tested the strength of the family.

In early October, Prince William shared an optimistic update on his wife’s recovery. He revealed that Kate is officially cancer-free. During a new episode of The Reluctant Traveler with Eugene Levy, the royal stated, “Yes, things are good. Everything is progressing in the right way, which is all good news.” When asked directly if Middleton is in remission, he confirmed, “Yes, she is, yes… It’s great news.”
William also praised both his wife and his father, King Charles, who is currently undergoing treatment. “You know, I’m so proud of my wife and my father for how they’ve handled all of last year,” he said, adding that their three children “have managed brilliantly as well.” Acknowledging the emotional toll, William emphasized the importance of maintaining a safe and open home environment. “We talk about things that bother us, and things that trouble us… it’s just important to be there for each other and to kind of reassure the children that everything is okay.”
