Vicky Pattison Shines in Halloween Week Performance on Strictly Come Dancing
Former Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison has made a strong impression on the latest episode of Strictly Come Dancing, with judges hailing her as a “contender” for the final. The 37-year-old reality TV personality, paired with dance partner Kai Widdrington, delivered a performance that left the judges impressed and eager to see her progress further in the competition.
The pair opened Halloween week with an American smooth routine set to Bonnie Tyler’s Total Eclipse of the Heart. Their performance was praised for its creativity and execution, with judge Motsi Mabuse highlighting the character play in the beginning, particularly the "dead" theme. She said, “I love the character play in the beginning, like the dead, and I think you did so, so well. So for me, you are a contender for the final.”
Anton Du Beke also gave high praise, calling the performance “absolutely marvellous.” He noted the way Pattison moved, saying, “It was breathy and big and bold. You had lovely speed difference as well. You were slow in the slow bit, but you were fast in the lifts and the exit lift was nice.” He concluded by describing the routine as “super, super performance.”
Craig Revel Horwood, while acknowledging the strengths of the performance, suggested there was room for improvement. He mentioned he would like to see “a little bit more reach” in Pattison’s arms and “smoother transitions from one moment to the next.”
Pattison and Widdrington, who appeared in a white dress with long curly white hair, received a total of 31 points from the judges, showcasing their strong performance. This score placed them among the top contenders for the final.
Other couples also took to the dance floor during the episode. Model Ellie Goldstein and Vito Coppola performed a tango to Lady Gaga’s Abracadabra, earning 27 points from the panel. Their performance demonstrated their chemistry and technical skills, though they fell slightly short of Pattison and Widdrington's score.
The show kicked off with a spooky skit featuring presenters Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly, who were chased by celebrity dancers transformed into zombies. This lighthearted opening set the tone for the Halloween-themed episode.
Among the audience were former Strictly stars Layton Williams and Krishnan Guru-Murthy, adding to the sense of nostalgia and excitement surrounding the event.
During Sunday’s results show, fans can look forward to a performance by The Celebrity Traitors star Cat Burns. Following this, a dance-off between two couples will take place. The performance will be accompanied by professional dancers Amy Dowden and Carlos Gu, who will also receive an invitation to “The Monsters’ Ball,” adding an extra layer of intrigue to the evening.
Photos from Sunday’s group dance revealed a dramatic shift in the show’s aesthetic. The usual glitter and sparkle were replaced with fog and gothic gowns, as the professional dancers appeared as half skeletons, half humans. This visual transformation added a new dimension to the competition, blending horror and elegance in a unique way.
In other news, last weekend saw former Chelsea star Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink become the fourth celebrity to leave Strictly, along with his partner Lauren Oakley. They were eliminated after losing the dance-off to Amber Davies and Nikita Kuzmin, marking another twist in the ongoing competition.
