Sarah McLachlan's Tour Postponement Due to Health Struggles
Sarah McLachlan, the renowned singer known for her powerful voice and emotional performances, has faced another setback in her ongoing recovery from laryngitis. This has led to the postponement of yet another stop on her Fumbling Towards Ecstasy 30th Anniversary Tour, originally scheduled for November 1, 2025, in Quebec City. The 57-year-old artist shared the news on Instagram just hours before the event was set to begin at the Videotron Centre Arena.
"I’m so sorry to have to announce another postponement for tonight’s show in Quebec City," she wrote, expressing her disappointment. "My voice has not recovered, and I am unable to perform. I’m truly sorry for the inconvenience this causes everyone who purchased a ticket and made plans to attend."
McLachlan also reassured her fans that she and her team were working on rescheduling the performance and would provide updates as they become available. "With much gratitude for your understanding. [heartbreak emoji] XoS."
Fans responded with an outpouring of support, emphasizing their concern for her well-being. One fan wrote, "Get well, Sarah. I’d rather wait to see you than to never be able to hear your voice again." Another added, "Please take care of yourself, Sarah. Your voice is your gift, and it deserves to heal."
Even fans who had already traveled to the event showed their understanding and support. One fan shared, "Having a before concert cocktail in the Chateau Frontenac when we read this. We are obviously devastated, but wish you a fast recovery and can’t wait to see you soon!"
Tiny Habits, the band opening for the tour, also shared the news on their Instagram Story, expressing hope that they would be able to continue together soon. "Plz send your love to Sarah to recover quickly," they wrote alongside broken heart emojis.
This latest postponement comes just two days after McLachlan had to cancel her Montreal stops due to worsening health issues. On October 30, she announced the delay, stating that her laryngitis had taken a turn for the worse and that she woke up without a voice.
The Canadian singer-songwriter launched her anniversary tour in Victoria, British Columbia, on October 15. She was expected to perform almost every night through November 9 before transitioning to her Better Broken tour in the United States, which was scheduled to run from November 16 through the 29th. This tight schedule leaves little room for recovery or rescheduling, making the current situation even more challenging for the artist.
Despite these setbacks, fans remain hopeful and supportive, eager to see McLachlan return to the stage when she is fully recovered. Her dedication to her craft and her connection with her audience continue to shine through, even during this difficult time.
