The speaker introduced him by highlighting his work in The West Wing, Badlands, and Apocalypse Now. When the speech reached Spider-Man, the audience responded with laughter and applause, which shocked Sheen. He was taken aback, realizing the unexpected cultural significance of his performance.
Despite not being a fan of the fantasy genre, Sheen’s portrayal of Uncle Ben remains a memorable part of the Spider-Man story. His character's death, like many versions of Uncle Ben, was tragic. In The Amazing Spider-Man, he was fatally shot while trying to stop a thief, a pivotal moment that set Peter Parker on his path as Spider-Man. Unlike Cliff Robertson, who reprised the role as a ghost in Spider-Man 2 and appeared in flashbacks in Spider-Man 3, Sheen did not return for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
