Jieli Tian, Zhiwei Wu charged in Oceanside spa bust

An undercover investigation at a Long Island spa led to the arrests of two Queens women, with one later taken into federal immigration custody, police announced on Wednesday, Aug. 12.

Jieli Tian and Zhiwei Wu, both 55 and of Flushing, were arrested at Angel’s Healing Spa at 220 Merrick Road in Oceanside at 3:09 p.m. on Wednesday, according to Nassau County Police.

Narcotics/Vice Squad detectives conducted an undercover investigation at the spa and determined illegal massages were being performed there, police said.

Tian and Wu were taken into custody without incident and charged with Unauthorized Practicing of a Profession, according to the release. They were issued appearance tickets returnable to First District Court in Hempstead on Tuesday, Sept. 1.

Further investigation determined Wu is illegally in the United States and subject to removal proceedings, police said.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents subsequently took Wu into custody.
