Excitement Turns to Disappointment as Olivia Dean Withdraws from Other Voices 2025
Other Voices Dingle has long been a highlight on the music calendar, offering artists a unique platform to connect with audiences in a picturesque setting. The festival, known for its intimate performances and stunning location in West Kerry, has become a rite of passage for many musicians. However, the excitement surrounding the 2025 line-up took an unexpected turn when one of the most anticipated names, Olivia Dean, announced she would no longer be performing.
The news came as a blow to fans who had eagerly awaited her appearance. Olivia, whose hit single "Man I Need" has dominated social media feeds and earned her a growing fanbase, was set to make her debut at the festival. Her Irish tour dates had sold out, and her inclusion in the Other Voices lineup had generated significant buzz. Now, with her withdrawal, many are left disappointed.

In a statement posted on Instagram, the festival organizers expressed their regret over the decision. “We’re very sorry to share that due to scheduling, Olivia Dean will no longer be able to join us in Dingle this year,” they wrote. “We know many of you were looking forward to her appearance and welcoming her to West Kerry, too.”
Despite the setback, the festival remains committed to delivering an unforgettable experience. Organizers hinted that more exciting artists will be announced for The Church in the coming weeks, keeping the anticipation alive.

If Olivia had performed, she would have made history as the first British singer to play at Other Voices since Harry Styles in 2022 and the first female British performer since Adele in 2021. This makes her absence all the more notable, especially given the festival’s reputation for showcasing emerging talent alongside established acts.
Other Voices Dingle is scheduled to take place from November 28 to 30, and over the years, it has hosted a range of big names, including Dermot Kennedy, Fontaines DC, and CMAT. Last year’s lineup featured Maverick Sabre and Fionn Regan, setting a high bar for 2025. So far, the 2025 line-up looks promising, with several exciting acts confirmed.

One of the standout additions for St James’ Church in 2025 is the Irish folk trio Amble. Comprised of Ross McNerny, Robbie Cunningham, and Oisin McCaffrey, the group hails from Leitrim, Sligo, and Longford, respectively. Despite only being together for two years, their music has captured the hearts of thousands worldwide. Their song "Lonely Island," which explores the experiences of Irish folk living abroad, went viral and has amassed over 20 million streams.

Another new act making their debut at Other Voices is Florence Road, a band formed by childhood friends Lily, Emma, Ailbhe, and Hannah. Hailing from Wicklow, the group has carved out a unique sound inspired by artists like The Cranberries and Wolf Alice. They have already received early support from prominent figures such as Olivia Rodrigo and beabadoobee. Their performances are described as raw and powerful, and their set at St James’ Church is expected to showcase a rare talent.
Other acts confirmed for the festival include Dove Ellis, Dry Cleaning, and Khakikid. Their performances will be recorded and aired early next year, with live streams available on the Other Voices YouTube channel. A limited number of tickets will also be available through competitions in the coming weeks.

Founder of Other Voices, Philip King, expressed his enthusiasm for the 2025 lineup. “Other Voices 2025 will again celebrate the amazing diversity of Irish voices that are about to happen,” he said. “Along with these artists, The Church of St James’ will play host to some of the finest bands and acts making music across the world right now.”
As the festival approaches, the focus remains on the incredible lineup and the unique experience it offers. While the loss of Olivia Dean is a disappointment, the event continues to promise a memorable weekend filled with music, culture, and community.
