Son of Missing Lexington Veteran Urges Dad's Safe Return

A Desperate Search for a Missing Veteran

In the quiet town of Lexington, Kentucky, a family is grappling with deep concern as they search for 54-year-old Jyronna Parker, a Marine Corps veteran who has been missing since last Friday. The situation has left his loved ones in a state of emotional turmoil, desperate for any clues that might lead to his safe return.

Jyrone Parker, the 33-year-old son of the missing man, described his father as someone who embodied loyalty and respect. “My father is the epitome of loyalty, respect, and the definition of a man,” he said. Jyrone emphasized that it was completely out of character for his father to leave without informing anyone where he was going, especially in the middle of the night.

Last Seen in Masterson Station Area

According to the Lexington Police Department, Jyronna Parker was last seen around 2:30 a.m. on October 17 near Maggie Cove in the Masterson Station area. Authorities later discovered his white Toyota Tundra in the Kroger parking lot on Boston Road.

Parker is described as being 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing approximately 220 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. His absence has left a void in the lives of those who knew him best.

A Family in Distress

Jyrone shared how deeply his father’s absence is affecting the family. “He’s the reason why I am the man I am today,” he said. “We are all hurting very badly because of the situation.”

Jyrone also mentioned that his father works at the VA Medical Center on Leestown Road, a job he truly loved. On Monday, he and his grandmother went to check if Parker had shown up for work. “They said that he had not reported to work, and everyone immediately was saying that is not like him,” Jyrone explained. “They reached out to the Lexington Police and the investigation started from there.”

Green Alert Issued

In response to the disappearance, Lexington police issued a Green Alert for Parker. This alert is used in Kentucky for missing veterans who may be at risk. Despite the uncertainty surrounding his whereabouts, Jyrone remains hopeful that his father is still out there.

“I don’t see any reason why he would give it up now,” Jyrone said, reflecting on the challenges his father has faced throughout his life. “The things that my father has endured in his life would break the average person. He survived that — I don’t see any reason why he would give it up now.”

A Message from the Heart

As the search continues, Jyrone has one final message for his father, hoping that wherever he is, he can hear it. “I knew you were loved. I didn’t understand how much you were loved,” he said. “We all have your back. We just want you home. We just want you safe. There is no judgment. I can’t wait to hold you.”

Anyone with information regarding Jyronna Parker’s whereabouts is urged to call 911 immediately. The community remains united in their efforts to find the missing veteran and bring him home safely.
