Laura Byrne and Brittany Hockley Unveil Surprising Career Shift as Life Uncut Departs ARN

New Chapter for Laura Byrne and Brittany Hockley

Laura Byrne and Brittany Hockley, known for their popular podcast Life Uncut, have taken a significant step in their careers by signing with Southern Cross Austereo (SCA). This move comes after the news that their Life Uncut podcast would be leaving the Australian Radio Network (ARN).

The close friends and business partners have now joined forces with SCA, as reported by Mumbrella on Wednesday. Life Uncut, which is considered one of Australia's top-ranking podcasts, will soon be available through LiSTNR channels. However, it remains unclear if this new deal includes a radio spot.

In 2023, during their six-year tenure with ARN, Laura, 39, and Brittany, 38, signed a multi-year deal that included a hosting gig on a KIIS Network early drive show. The Pick Up with Britt, Laura and Mitch featured the former reality TV stars hosting their own radio show alongside Mitch Churi, who was let go from ARN in 2024.

While there is no immediate gap for Laura and Brittany to fill at SCA's Hit Network, it is understood that there will be more talent and line-up changes before the end of the year.

"The LiSTNR team are always in discussions with the biggest and best podcasts from Australia and around the globe," said an SCA spokesperson. "Any announcements about new signings will be made at the appropriate time."

This development follows news that Laura and Brittany, along with their Life Uncut podcast, will be leaving ARN after six years. A spokesperson confirmed to Mediaweek last Thursday that the program would leave ARN airwaves by the end of the year. "After six successful years together, ARN and Life Uncut will part ways at the end of 2025, allowing us to focus on new iHeart Originals launching in 2026," they revealed.

Since its inception, Life Uncut has maintained a strong position among the top lifestyle and relationship podcast programs Down Under. So much so that a spin-off radio show, The Pick Up, was introduced and now airs across the country on the KIIS Network.

The podcast duo reflected on their success back in 2023 after revealing Life Uncut had topped the Spotify charts as one of Australia's biggest podcasts. The hosts shared a gallery of photos to Instagram, showing their 'Spotify Wrapped' statistics for their program, which demonstrated the programme’s widespread appeal.

Laura and Brittany were thrilled that thousands of people were listening to their show and thanked their fans for their phenomenal success. "We are 4.5 years and 500 episodes deep and have loved every second. To have that love reflected back means everything to us," they began. "Some highlights: Top one percent of charted podcasts. Played in 115 countries! A top 10 for 85.2k people! Huge growth of 999.9% on streams and listens. We won the Champions Award at the Australian Podcast Awards. That you guys care so much about us personally means the world to us."

Both women have celebrated milestone moments this year. In June, Brittany married Swiss footballer Ben Siegrist in a lavish Balinese ceremony. The pair have bought a home on the Gold Coast but continue to navigate long distance while the sportsman plays for Genoa FC. What's more, Laura gave birth to her third daughter Poppy with husband Matty 'J' Johnson in September.
