Jamie Lee Curtis: A Vocal Advocate for Democracy and Equality

Jamie Lee Curtis is a powerful voice in both the entertainment industry and the political sphere. Known for her bold personality and unapologetic stance on important issues, she has consistently used her platform to speak out against injustice and support causes that align with her values. One of the most significant moments in her activism came when her child came out as transgender. Rather than shying away from the conversation, Curtis embraced the change and encouraged others to do the same. She once stated, "I will fight and defend her right to exist to anyone who claims that she doesn't," emphasizing her commitment to equality and acceptance.

Curtis has also been vocal about her political views, especially regarding the presidency of Donald Trump. On October 18, 2025, she participated in the "No Kings" protest, which was a nationwide demonstration against Trump's leadership. On Instagram, she shared a photo of a modified traffic sign that read, "No King Any Time." In the caption, she wrote, "We have a YEAR to send a real MESSAGE at the BALLOT BOX which is our AMERICAN VOICE, and so, let's get &$@KING BUSY." While she didn’t explicitly name Trump, the message was clear — she was calling for an end to his influence.

The post included a carousel of images showing various signs created by protesters. One sign featured orange monarch butterflies with the message, "The only orange monarch we want in the USA." Another image depicted Rosie the Riveter holding Trump in a headlock with the caption, "We Can Do It!" Curtis captioned the post, "SIGNS 'O THE TIMES! Democracy in ACTION," highlighting her belief in the power of collective action.

A Longstanding Anti-Trump Stance

Curtis has not only spoken out against Trump during recent protests but has also been a consistent critic of his policies and behavior since the beginning of his presidency. In November 2024, after Trump won the election, she took to Instagram to express her concerns. She warned that his return to office would mean "a sure return to a more restrictive, some fear draconian time." She urged people to "Fight for women and our children and their futures and fight against tyranny, one day at a time."

Her opposition to Trump was evident even earlier, in 2018, when she appeared on The Kyle and Jackie O Show and expressed her disapproval of his leadership. "He is not a good person," she said. "You have to have empathy [to be president], you have to care about people. He does not care about anybody but Donald J. Trump." This sentiment reflected her broader belief in compassion and responsibility in leadership.

Curtis also took to X (formerly Twitter) in 2018 to criticize Trump for a false missile alert that caused panic among Hawaii residents. She blamed him for the incident, writing, "It is on YOUR ARROGANCE. HUBRIS. NARCISSISM. RAGE. EGO. IMMATURITY and your UNSTABLE IDIOCY. Shame on your hate filled self. YOU DID THIS!" The post was later deleted, but the impact of her words remained.

A Voice for Change

Throughout her career, Jamie Lee Curtis has proven herself to be more than just an actress. She is a passionate advocate for social justice, equality, and democratic values. Whether it’s standing up for her family, speaking out against political figures, or participating in public demonstrations, she consistently uses her voice to make a difference. Her actions serve as a reminder of the importance of civic engagement and the power of individual expression in shaping the future.
