
A 3 1/2-year-old girl died Wednesday after she was brought to the Abilene Police Department with obvious injuries, according to police.
Police said the girl was brought to the front parking lot of the Abilene Police Department at about 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 12.

A family member contacted officers inside the police department and requested assistance for the child.
The Abilene Fire Department and MetroCare EMS responded to the scene and provided lifesaving efforts, but the girl did not survive.
Police identified 35-year-old Anum Khalil Khan of Abilene as the suspect in the child's death.

Khan was charged with capital murder of a person under 10 years old, according to police.
Investigators with the Abilene Police Department's Major Crimes Division are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the child's death.
