Lorde's Journey Through Music and Creativity
Lorde, the artist known for her introspective lyrics and unique sound, has always taken her time between album releases. Like Adele, she has embraced a lifestyle away from the spotlight, choosing to focus on personal growth and experiences rather than rushing into new projects. This approach has led to long gaps between her albums, with the most recent being four years between her 2017 release Melodrama and the 2021 album Solar Power. However, Lorde is now looking forward to a more frequent release schedule.
During a recent interview with Variety, Lorde, who is 28 years old, shared her excitement about the future of her music. She mentioned that she feels "excited to find out" what direction her next album might take. The singer also expressed that she is not in the mood for a break from her creative process. "I'm definitely feeling very active and not needing a break from being creative," she said. "I'm feeling kind of insatiable, to be honest."
Lorde has been working on her debut album, Pure Heroine, which was released in 2013, followed by Melodrama in 2017. These albums marked significant milestones in her career, showcasing her evolution as an artist. Now, with a renewed sense of energy and inspiration, she is eager to explore new musical territories.
Overcoming Stage Fright and Embracing Performance
In addition to her creative endeavors, Lorde has also spoken about how her previous struggles with stage fright have diminished. She shared that she is now much more comfortable on stage, thanks to her pre-show rituals. "I'm pretty lucky that my stage fright is at bay now, because that was really a big part of my life," she explained.
Her rituals include burning something and writing things down before each show. While these practices may seem unconventional, they help her stay grounded and focused. "I do a bunch of push-ups and planks and s–t," she added, showing her playful side.
Lorde's confidence on stage is evident in her performances. During a recent gig at Los Angeles' Kia Forum, she capped off the show with a guest appearance from her friend Charli XCX. The two performed their electrifying remix of "Girl, So Confusing," which has become a fan favorite. This collaboration was not new; the duo had previously performed the song together during Charli and Troye Sivan's Sweat tour in New York and again at Charli's Coachella set in April.
Upcoming Tour Dates and Future Plans
After wrapping up the North American leg of her Ultrasound tour on Wednesday night (Oct. 22) at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Lorde will take a few weeks off before returning to the stage. Her European tour will begin on Nov. 9 at Rockhal in Luxembourg, with shows continuing through Dec. 9 at Annexet in Sweden.

From her early days as a rising star to her current status as a respected and influential artist, she continues to push boundaries and challenge herself creatively.
