Trump's Attacks on Women of Color in Congress

President Donald Trump has once again targeted the intelligence of two prominent women of color in Congress, specifically Texas Representative Jasmine Crockett and New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Crockett, who is known for her sharp wit and unyielding stance, has responded to these insults by turning Trump’s comments about intelligence back on him. She has also raised questions about his tendency to attack Black and brown women, highlighting what she sees as a pattern of behavior.

Crockett's Argument: Privilege Over Intelligence

Crockett made her remarks during an appearance on The Source with Kaitlan Collins, where she addressed Trump's repeated use of the term “low IQ” to describe herself and AOC. She suggested that Trump’s success stems from privilege rather than intellectual capability. During the interview, Crockett remarked, “Listen, I’m waiting on a reporter, and maybe it’ll be you, Kaitlan, to finally ask him what is his IQ, ’cause he is constantly talking about…he doesn’t even know what a low IQ is. He doesn’t even know which scores are low, and I can guarantee you that whatever score, if he’s taken one anytime recently, I’m sure that his qualifies as low.”

She also noted that Trump has never been known to be an Einstein, arguing that he likely wouldn’t have attended prestigious schools if he hadn’t been born with a silver spoon.

Trump's Bizarre Claims About Cognitive Tests

In a bizarre twist, Trump boasted about taking a cognitive test and compared it to an aptitude test. During a press briefing aboard Air Force One, he claimed, “They have Jasmine Crockett, a low-IQ person. They have… AOC’s low IQ.” He then challenged both Crockett and AOC to take on a cognitive test against him, stating, “Let AOC go against Trump. Let Jasmine go against Trump.”

Trump also mentioned having undergone a “perfect” MRI earlier this month. While he has repeatedly highlighted these medical tests as indicators of his intelligence, the frequent examinations have sparked speculation about his health. Crockett had previously questioned Trump’s mental acuity after he delivered a rambling speech earlier this year.

A History of Racist Insults Against People of Color

Trump has a long history of attacking the intelligence of Crockett, AOC, and other people of color. His rhetoric often includes racist tropes aimed at political opponents. During her CNN appearance, Crockett expressed frustration with the president’s focus on two women of color in Congress, saying, “I wish people would look at the fact that you have a president of the United States who consistently is obsessing over two women of color that are members of the House.”

She added, “I don’t know what Black woman hurt him in his past, honey, but it is really taking him through it.” Crockett also urged Trump to focus on his real job instead of targeting her, stating, “My constituents will worry about whether or not I have an adequate IQ, even though that’s not the test that he’s taking, and it’s up to them to decide.”

The Future of the Debate

It remains to be seen if any reporter will take Crockett’s challenge to directly question Trump about his intelligence and competence. For now, as Trump continues to launch insults at Crockett, the Texas congresswoman remains ready to counter his “low IQ” taunts with her own sharp responses. Her ability to turn the conversation back on Trump highlights the ongoing tension between the president and progressive lawmakers, particularly those from marginalized communities.
